Experiencing a crime or home invasion can be a distressing experience and can leave us feeling unsafe and unsure what to do now to reduce future risk.

Neighbourhood Watch NT are committed to creating safer, better connected and more inclusive Territory communities and have put together this e-resource package to provide you with an overview of who we are, what we do and how we can help you to be and feel safer.

Please take some time to explore our crime prevention and community connection resources and initiatives and let’s work together to have you feeling safer and more secure in your home and in the community.

Who are we?

Neighbourhood Watch NT are a not-for-profit community safety organisation committed to helping to create safer, better connected and more inclusive Territory communities. We aim to achieve our vision through two key elements: Education and Connection.

  • We provide relevant and inclusive community safety information to all Territorians.

  • Help bring Territorians together to build safer and better informed communities.

Campaigns

Stop. Look. Lock.

The Stop. Look. Lock. campaign aims to remind Territorians of the simple measures they can take to reduce the instances of opportunistic crime.

In 2021, 25% of NT home break ins were into an unlocked or unsecured premise - we want to reduce this number to 0.

My Home, My Town

My Home, My Town is an Alice Springs community safety initiative in partnership with Victims of Crime NT and Alice Springs Town Council. It includes a series of Personal Safety Sessions, a community safety campaign and free home security assessments.

Every December since 2019, Twinkle and Tinsel the Crime Prevention Elves, have been sent by Santa to the NT to help NHWNT promote community safety messaging during the festive season.
