WHAT WE DO

CREATE VALUABLE SAFETY RESOURCES
NHWNT use information from the Police and the community to develop and deliver safety resources that help Territorians stay secure, become more connected and feel safer.

SPREAD SAFETY EDUCATION MESSAGING
Safety education is a pivotal aspect of the work NHWNT do. We provide relevant crime prevention and community safety information to Territory residents.

ENCOURAGE COMMUNITY CONNECTION
NHWNT work to encourage community connections across the NT to create safer, happier and more resilient neighbourhoods. Every week 1 in 4 Australians report feeling lonely, the good news is there are plenty of ways to keep connected - check out our Connecting our Communities brochure for all of our tips!

OUR KEY FOCUS AREAS

GOVERNANCE
By focusing on the Governance of NHWNT, we aim to ensure we understand our purpose and strategy, maintain financial health and sustainability, create a culture of accountability, high performance and leadership and review and update our constitution.

ENGAGEMENT
We plan to continue to engage our members, and all Territorians, by diversifying and growing our membership, organising and attending community events, delivering relevant projects to regional and remote areas, maintaining a strong online presence and continuing our partnerships with stakeholders and the media.

RELEVANCE
NHWNT will continue to grow and ensure our relevance through the renewal and review of information and resources, creating interactive and tailor-made resources, understanding the community concerns and expectations, partnering with stakeholders and responding to issues and concerns in a timely manner.

EDUCATION
NHWNT work to ensure that best practice advice is provided and accessible to all Territorians. We will do this by developing and promoting public awareness campaigns, community education presentations, resources and a suite of toolkits.
